In "The Woman Warrior" Is about a girls culture that shes is not familiar and how it affects her. The girl gets judged about how uncultured she is about her own culture. In the text it states" It spoils my day with self-disgust when I hear my broken voice come skittering out into the open. It makes people wince to hear it." This quote means that she herself is very self conscious of the way she talks and it truly bothers her. Although it is improving it still is not the perfect English that everyone else around her talks. Also the fact on how it makes people wince to hear it means that people are most likely making her feel more uncomfortable because her English is not like theirs. I find this quote to be important because it is an actual problem that people to this day face and it might affect them. People cannot complete things to the best of their ability if they cannot understand or comprehend what needs to be said. I have personally seen one of my professors call out on a student because he knows she does not feel so comfortable speaking because of her accent and the way she pronounced words. I know he was trying to help her but the way he came off was too strong to a point where he embarrassed her saying if she did not read to leave the classroom. So this is something that is still happening and people don't feel so comfortable about it.

What Is the Left Without Identity Politics?
In the article “ What Is the Left Without Identity Politics?” , I choose the quote, “ The Declaration of Independence describes a world in which “all men are created equal,” where “they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,” and that “to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” The article talks about the victims who were discriminated rather then isolating victims who are black and victims who are white. This quote basically says that all people are equal and have the same rights as any other person. The Declaration of Independence has great significance to the American people, which states certain ideals that the colonists believed were important for man to have, such as liberty and equality. The author believes politics should be changed and make everyone equal in both wealth and rights. The article explain on the idea of changing politics and on how racism has been viewed over the years.
